Dr. Gordon Groh is an orthopaedic surgeon at Blue Ridge Bone & Joint, located in Asheville, N.C. A specialist in shoulder, elbow, hand and microvascular surgery, and sports medicine, Dr. Groh is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as several professional orthopaedic societies.
Groh is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine-Columbia and completed a shoulder fellowship at the University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Groh has also been awarded a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery, and he is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the North Carolina Orthopedic Society and the North Carolina Hand Society.
Groh’s surgical experience includes approximately 700 operations per year in the following areas: 200 arthroscopic rotator cuff; 150 carpal tunnel; 150 tendonitis (i.e., trigger fingers, dequervains, tennis elbow); 50 hand/wrist fractures; 50 arthroscopic repairs for instability and impingement syndrome; 40 standard shoulder arthroplasty; 30 shoulder fracture repairs; and six reverse shoulder procedures.
Blue Ridge Bone & Joint has been serving the Asheville community for more than 50 years and is the leading orthopaedic surgery group in Western North Carolina, with 20 physicians and growing. The practice specializes in the diagnosis and comprehensive medical and surgical treatments of all musculoskeletal orthopaedic disorders.

Asheville Orthopaedic Surgeon Presents Lectures at Symposiums

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Dr. Gordon Groh, an orthopaedic surgeon at Blue Ridge Bone & Joint, was a key presenter at Fracture Fixation symposiums held recently in St. Louis, Mo., and Baltimore, Md. Approximately 30 orthopaedic surgeons from the Midwest attended the St. Louis session, and Groh spoke to the same number of orthopaedic surgery residents from the East Coast at the Baltimore symposium.
