MI-Connection Names Miller General Manager of New Cable, Internet Company

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – James R. Miller, Jr. has been named general manager of MI-Connection, the new cable and Internet company that will serve more than 10,500 customers in Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius. Miller joins the MI-Connection team with extensive operations management experience in the telecommunications realm, including field operations, construction and maintenance of outside facilities, and installation activities. His office will be located at 435 South Broad St., Mooresville.

Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius vote to buy cable system

MOORESVILLE - The towns of Mooresville, Davidson and Cornelius voted Aug. 13 in favor of purchasing the former Adelphia system, forming a jointly controlled telecommunications firm called MI: Connection. Time Warner Cable has been operating the system temporarily while court and town action was taking place. Mooresville will purchase the approximately 10,000 subscriber system for $75 million with Davidson paying the town back $40 million. Cornelius will assign their current, and future, subscribers to MI: Connection but will not be paying any money towards the purchase.

Towns approve cable system purchase

The town boards of Mooresville and Davidson voted separately Monday night to go ahead with the proposed $39 million purchase of the local cable TV and internet system. The towns now have 120 days to buy the system, which they plan to rename MI-Connection.
